Resources - SA politics and the environment

South Africa held its last national elections in April 2004. To assist the undecided "green" voter, we compiled a voter's guide to the environmental policies of the parties that stood in the election, and a more elborate analysis for the press and other researchers. Its obviously not much use now that the elections are over, but could always be used to prepare yourself for the next elections!

The ANC won the 2004 elections with a large majority. This was no surprise. What was a surprise was the appointment of Marthinus van Schalkwyk as our new Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism. We were so surprised we wrote a letter to the newspaper.
