Networks - Trade Strategy Group

EMG is a founding member of the civil society Trade Strategy Group, which is currently co-ordinated by the Institute for Global Dialogue. This is an informal network and discussion group that meets on an ad-hoc basis to discuss strategies for orienting trade towards sustainable development. Participants are drawn from South African organisations but most are also members of other regional and/or international networks such as the Trade and Gender Network (GENTA), Alternative Information and Development Center (AIDC), Economic Justice Network, etc.

The TSG is an informal grouping aimed at sharing information, but it did develop a "manifesto" just prior to the 2002 WSSD, which gives a good sense of this Groups priorities.
